Views of BMC & Victoria Terminus Bombay – 6 Postcards

Six old postcards with views of BMC & Victoria Terminus in Bombay, now Mumbai. The postcards are from around 1890 to 1915. Two of them are of the Bombay Municipal Corporation, one with a panoramic view. The other two include views of the Municipal Corporation building and the Victoria Terminus.

The road between the Victoria Terminus and the BMC is Hornby Road (now Dadabhai Naoroji Road). The road on the left of BMC is Crushank Road (now Mahapalika Marg). The massive BMC building was designed by the same architect as that of the Victoria Terminus: F W Stevens. Quite a number of early electric trams are visible in the postcards. Although one of them shows horse-drawn trams with advertisements for Nestle Milk. Click on the photo for better view.

Did you know – the chief architectural feature is the central dome that rises to a phenomenal height of 71.5 m (234.6 ft).

From the collection – Antique Painting of Madras Fort St George., Life of British India Army Officer – Old Photo 1890., Mahatma Gandhi On The Streets of Bombay – Old Print 1932., Old Book 1895 – The English in India (1700-1805).

The images are of the actual items from my collection. And Not a photocopy, pirated, reproduced, stock photos, or taken from other sources.
