King George V and Queen Mary, both visited India as the Prince and Princess of Wales in 1905. They had an extensive tour of the Indian subcontinent that lasted four months. The royal couple visited Bombay, Bangalore, Jaipur, Kapurthala, Delhi, Lucknow, Rangoon, Madras, Calcutta, Lahore, and so on. They travelled by the Royal Train that was specially refurbished for this occasion. Shown here is the Bombay Town Hall which had been grandly decorated for the reception.
