A spectacular panoramic view of the Victoria Terminus and BMC Junction busy with horse trams in British Era Bombay (Mumbai). An uncommon 1895 photo of the Victoria Terminus and BMC Junction. The beautiful Victoria Terminus (Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus) was completed in 1888.
The Municipal Corporation Building, now BMC (Brihan Mumbai Municipal Corporation) was completed in 1893. Both the buildings were designed by the gifted F W Stevens. Frederick William Stevens was a Bombay-based English Architect who worked for the British colonial administration in India.
This captivating view of the Victoria Terminus and BMC also shares a view of the once charming trams of Bombay. Shown are the Horse-drawn trams that lasted until 1907 after which electric tram arrived on the scene. The lengthy covered platform of the station can be seen on the left.
