1969 Moon Landing US Astronauts In Mumbai – Old Photo

Shown are the 1969 US Astronauts who landed on the moon in Bombay or Mumbai. They arrived in Bombay in 1969 the same year of the Moon Landing. A massive crowd turned out to receive the three astronauts- Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins. The typed text or news reads- “City Center and Moonmen.

The Bombay city center, 165 feet high, presides over the three US astronauts during the civic reception given the Americans in this Indian port town Sunday.  The Apollo XI crew were welcomed in India Sunday by a massive crowd estimated by officials at 1.5 million. It was the largest reception given the three men and their wives of their 22-nation trip.”
