This book was brought out by The Central Publicity Bureau (Railway Board) Delhi, dating to 1939. A handy information book from the British Indian administration for foreign tourists that arrived in India. It gives a pictorial tour of Western India, Rajputana, Northern India, North-West India, Eastern, and Southern India.
The book includes information on Indian statistics, steamship route to India, how to see and arrive in India, air service, places to stay, etc. A detailed tourist map was also attached in the book. Essentially a pragmatic tourist handbook for its time. The book does give a nostalgic sort of journey. There are many interesting advertisements, one of them is of the Imperial Bank of India, now the present day State Bank Of India.
