This book was brought out by The Central Publicity Bureau (Railway Board) Delhi, dating to around 1939. A handy information book from the British for tourists that arrived in India. A pictorial tour of- Western, Rajputana, Northern, North-Western, Eastern, and Southern India.
Information on Indian statistics, steamship route to India, how to see and arrive in India, air services, where to stay. It includes a tourist map. Generally a sophisticated tourist handbook for its time. Going through the pages we go back nostalgically to the golden days of this country, where everything had its own pace.
The book also contains many advertisements one of them being the Imperial Bank of India which became the State Bank Of India after independence.
