Bamboo Island At Cubbon Park In Bangalore, 1905 Postcard
A 1905 postcard of Bamboo Island at Cubbon Park in Bangalore (Bengaluru). Richard Sankey, Chief Engineer of the then Mysore State, designed and created Cubbon Park in the British India era of 1870. The park is located in the heart of Bangalore.
At the start, the park was allocated 100 acres but it was steadily expanded to 300 acres till today. Additionally bamboo island was created although later a bamboo grove was tastefully designed and created in the park (see postcard). The park, with its lushest green flora, is a necessary green lung for the city. A European man in white is noticeable on the left. Click on the photo for better view
