University Garden Bombay, 1905 Postcard
Old 1905 postcard of the University Gardens Bombay, now Mumbai. The Garden like the Rajabai Clock Tower is a part of the University. See also the beautiful building visible with its charming cantilever balcony. That shows the architectural beauty of a bygone era Mumbai. A prevalent design at the time of British-era buildings in Mumbai.
The charming building with the cantilever balcony may or may not be there today. I had searched various sources on the web and in books but without any success in getting more information or pictures on it. This postcard was posted from Calcutta, now Kolkata. The postal cancellation and the handwritten date both read 31-05-06 (31 May 1906). Notice a man with a hat sitting on one of the benches.

The University also has a beautiful French-style Convocation Hall, a 280 feet Rajabai Clock Tower and library building. Funded by Premchand Roychand, a well-known banker and philanthropist in 1878 and named it after his mother.
