Air India was once an inspiration to other airlines such as Singapore Airlines, Thai, and Cathay Pacific during their emerging years. Unfortunately, Air India’s onset of its decline started once it was nationalized in 1953. Consequently, it became a sort of a white elephant for the government bringing in losses each year. Thus accumulated a huge debt of Rs 60,000 crores before it was sold of ironically to the same Tata’s from whom it was taken away in the first place.

The Golden Temple or Harmandir Sahib situated in Amritsar is another of India’s pride. Completed in 1604 by the fifth Sikh Guru Arjan Dev. So named Golden Temple, because the upper half of the temple is inlaid with gold. Read more- Discover India – Golden Temple of Amritsar.
