View of Bombay From Chowpatty, postcard 1900

This beautiful old postcard shows the view of a once pristine Bombay of 1900 from Chowpatty Beach. The famous landmarks visible are the Bombay High Court, Secretariat, Raja Bai Clock Tower, and so on. The foreground waters are the Back Bay area which is a curving shoreline stretching from Malabar Point to Colaba. The Marine Drive and Promenade occupy a major portion of this shoreline. Ending near the south end of  Chowpatty Beach. Click on the photo for better view.

Did you know- the Marine and its promenade were created only by the 1900s.
