Prince Of Wales At Railway Station Bangalore, 1906 Photo
An old 1906 stereo photo of the British Prince & Princess at Bangalore railway station 1906. They were George, Prince of Wales, later King Emperor George V. Accompanied by his wife Princess Mary, later Queen Mary. Both were on a royal tour to British India from 1905 to 1906.
Shown here is the Royal couple seated on a Royal carriage after their arrival to Bangalore by train. They had travelled from Madras to Mysore then later to Bangalore (now Bengaluru). Both had embarked on an all India royal tour including Burma. Beginning from Bombay (now Mumbai) where they first landed by a special steamer ship.
It included the cities of Bombay, Indore, Udaipur, Jaipur, Bikaner, Lahore, Peshawar, The Khyber, Rawalpindi, Jammu, Amritsar, Delhi, Agra, Gwalior, Lucknow, Calcutta, Rangoon, Madras, Mysore, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Benares, Aligarh, Quetta, Chaman & Karachi. Click on the photo for better view.
