This is an old 1927 newspaper clipping of New Delhi’s inauguration with a vintage car in the foreground. Lord Irwin the then Viceroy inaugurated New Delhi’s parliament that is visible in the background. The vintage car of the period shown in the foreground may have belonged to him. The text reads- The council house (parliament house) at New Delhi. Which has been opened in State by the Viceroy of India.

“The great circular colonnade encloses the chamber of Princes, the Council of State, and the legislative assembly, with a library under the central dome. The foundation stone was laid on February 12, 1921, by the Duke of Connaught. The architects of New Delhi are Sir Edwin Lutyens and Sir Herbert Baker.
