Visible in the picture is a motor car, and beautiful old-world shops of the period. It is one of the principal streets of Pune, faced with shops on either side. A favourite landmark of the armed and civil service officers located in and around Poona and the cantonment area. It was and probably still is the most happening place for the young and old alike. The Parsis were to establish the earliest shops here.
Did you know- the city was the headquarters of the Maratha empire. Pune is also home to the National Defence Academy, a joint services academy of the Army, Airforce, and Navy.
