Maharaja Gaekwad’s Bungalow In Bombay-Old Postcard 1913

Old 1913 postcard of the Maharaja Gaekwad’s Bungalow in  Bombay, now Mumbai. The Gaekwad’s Bungalow also known as Jayamahal Palace. The back shows handwritten text possibly in French. And the date shown is 28/11.1913. This magnificent bungalow built by the Maharaja Sayaji Rao Gaekwad III of Baroda.

The Jayamahal Palace had a grand durbar hall and a sprawling garden. It was located on the beautiful Napean sea road at Malabar Hill, overlooking the sea. But unfortunately, the palace was demolished in 1960, not sure of the exact reason. Once known as the most charming residential building in Bombay or Mumbai.
