British Soldiers Club Bangalore – Old Postcard 1900

Old 1900 photo postcard of British Soldiers Club in Bangalore, now Bengaluru. I’m not sure if this club still exists in Bengaluru. Perhaps it may be functioning after a change of name or altogether closed down but not entirely sure. Since there are umpteen recreational clubs in the city today and most look different from what it was in colonial times.

I have tried all types of available info in journals and the net but without any success on this club. It would be nice to know if anyone has any sort of information on this British soldiers club.

See also my posts- Bowring Institute Bangalore – Old Postcard 1895., and Bangalore Club In Bengaluru – Old Postcard 1905.

Notice the smartly dressed Indian guard outside the gate of the club and a British member in a sun helmet looking on.

Read one of India’s oldest clubs- The Bengal Club.
