British Cavalrymen Bangalore, 1877 Photo

British Cavalrymen Bangalore, 1877 Photo

An 1877 photo of British Cavalrymen on horseback at Bangalore (Bengaluru) Cantonment. European and native Indians seem to be looking on. The inscription on the bottom side reads “Garrison Course Bangalore 1876-77.” Probably on a training mission getting set to leave with a contingent and field guns. Although the photograph is a bit faded and slightly torn but still gives a glimpse of what was once under the British Raj. Bangalore Cantonment was the beehive of military and civilian activities.
