Aerial View of India’s Parliament, 1930 Postcard
This is an old 1930 postcard showing the aerial view of the Indian Parliament Building. Designed by Edwin Lutyens and Henry Baker and supposedly inspired by the design of a Hindu Temple. Extract- “It was the architects Edward Lutyens and Herbert Baker who designed the Parliament building. Both also had designed and planned the city of New Delhi, which was inaugurated in 1931. The Parliament Building formerly called The House of Parliament took six years to complete construction. There are three chambers in the Parliament building. These are the Council of State (Rajya Sabha),

Did you know- the official transfer of power from Britain to India took place in the Central Hall of the Parliament on 14-15th August (midnight) in 1947.
