1964 M. Suriyamoorthy Charcoal Art Abstract. M. Suriyamoorthy’s artworks are eye-catching and lean more towards Picasso’s style of art. He could be termed as India’s Picasso. This is Suriyamoorthy’s abstract charcoal art on paper of woman in Indian summer.
Signed by him on the poster “M. Suriyamoorthy 3/11/64”, the poster measures 29×20 inches. I was fortunate to collect many of his charcoal drawings. He was born in Tamil Nadu, Southern India 1944. Being a professional artist, he derived his own distinct style.
With women being centralized in most of his art. His paintings and art have won many awards in India and abroad. These were exhibited in Europe and America. And many of his oil paintings and drawings were sold at art auctions abroad.
Suriyamoorthy a truly gifted artist died at the age of 68 only.
