Srirangam Temple In Tiruchirapalli, 1872 Print

An 1872 engraved print of the Srirangam Temple in Tiruchirapalli. Titled Pagoda Seringham. This magnificent temple is officially known as the Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, located at Srirangam Tiruchirapalli. It is situated on an island between the confluence of rivers Cauvery and Coleroon. The enormous complex is in the Dravidian style architecture, spread over 153 acres.

The year it was built is a bit hazy but considered to be from the BC period. And is broadly classified with other magnificent religious sanctuaries of the world like Tibet’s Potala Palace, Cambodia’s Angkor Wat, the Vatican City, and so on. Sri Ranganathaswamy also known by its name Thiruvaranga Tirupati. The temple complex has 21 magnificent towers offering a unique sight to the visitors.
