This is an old pictorial book on the views of Bombay or Mumbai old and new. What interests me the most is the pictures of the canons that once stood around the edges of Apollo Bunder Harbour or Wellington Pier (see 3rd picture). These were used as a defense against the French invaders, local chieftains, pirates, and other enemies. See my post- Apollo Bunder Before The Gateway Of India – Old Print 1874.
You can notice in the print the Canons placed at the edge. Apollo Bunder was the place before the Gateway of India came up. Other interesting views are of the Fort and its two gates- Apollo Gate and Church Gate before they were demolished.
