Maharaja of Patiala And His Chrysler Car – Old Photo 1929
This is an old 1929 photo of the Maharaja of Patiala with his Chrysler car of 1920s today a vintage car. He and the King of Spain before a hunting trip along with their entourages. For Indian Maharajas hunting was one of the most desirable royal pastimes. Sometimes when accompanied by privileged guests they would embark on an expedition for days together.
Complete with their retainers, automobiles, guns, and so on. Hunting by the Indian Royalty and British officials said to have almost decimated the tiger and other wildlife population in India.

Shown is the Maharaja of Patiala Bhupinder Singh with a flashy Chrysler car of the 1920s. Today this Chrysler would be a quality vintage car. Also pictured is the King of Spain and Bhupinder Singh’s diminutive-looking brother right behind him. Bhupinder Singh had a fleet of Rolls Royce cars and is said to be the first person in India to own an airplane.
