Casino Hotel At Cochin – Old Postcard 1968
This is an old 1968 postcard of Casino Hotel at Cochin, now Kochi. Though named “Casino” the hotel has nothing to do with casino games or gambling. It is a regular 5-star luxury hotel catering primarily to tourists from India and abroad. Situated on Willingdon Island of Kochi, it was established in the 1950s. And is a part of a group of hotels and resorts that are located around touristy areas of the countryside.
Its in-house restaurants are one of the major attractions for Kerala cuisine. This picture postcard of the hotel is from a 1968 painting by Morris Keitz. The text reads- “Casino Hotel- the tourist’s paradise on Willingdon Island, Cochin-3, off the Malabar Coast, India.” Click on the photo for better view.
