Three 1937 postcards with aerial views of Flora Fountain, Oval Maidan, and Fort Areas in Bombay (Mumbai). The first postcard shows the Flora Fountain area, the Oriental Building, and the row of public buildings. Which includes the Rajabai Clock Tower, the Secretariat, and the High Court. The Oval Maidan is seen adjacent to the row of public buildings.

The 2nd image shows a closer view of the Oriental Building and the Flora Fountain. The forked road on the left is the Mahatma Gandhi Road and on the right is the Dr Dadabhai Naoroji Road. The third image is of the Fort area which extends from Flora Fountain to Bombay’s docks. Horniman Circle can be seen on the right, with the St Thomas Cathedral visible in its foreground. Vaguely viewable are the Mint and the Town Hall.

Did you know – Bombay’s Fort walls were demolished in 1862, otherwise it would have appeared in these pictures if it had existed.
