This is about the author’s lectures: India I, II, the Passion Play. It was published in 1925 and is the author’s view of this country in Part I & II. The author was born in Massachusetts, in 1850. In 1874, he traveled around the world.

From his travel experiences, he made a series of popular lectures throughout America. These were regularly published in book form. Which at the end numbered 10 volumes and five supplements. This book on India with the Passion Play was Volume IV.
