Abu’s Tomb Meerut – Old Print 1850
It reads- “Abu’s Tomb, Merat Drawn by C Didbin, Engraved by Finden, A. Fullarton & Co Ltd, London & Edinburgh”. This is a steel-engraved Print dating to around 1850. It measures 10x 6½ inches. The tomb is also called Abu Ka Maqbara. Abu Mohammed Khan was a Nawab of Meerut and a minister in the court of Aurangzeb, the Mughal Emperor.
He had on his orders built a canal from the Kali River in Meerut in 1658 for the supply of fresh water. Called Abunala which is a great boon for the city residents even today.
