C1964 M. Suriyamoorthy Charcoal Art Abstract (#1). M. Suriyamoorthy’s artworks are eye-catching and somewhat resembles Picasso, and he could be termed as India’s Picasso. This is abstract charcoal drawing on paper that looks like an eagle and a cobra by M. Suriyamoorthy.
He did this “C1964 M. Suriyamoorthy Charcoal Art Abstract” on a poster-sized paper of 77 x 50cm, his sign, and the date ’64’ are visible. I was lucky to get many of these poster-sized abstract charcoal drawings many years ago. M. Suriyamoorthy was born in 1944 in Tamil Nadu, Southern India.
Being a professional artist, he derived his own distinct style with women being his centralized subject in most of his art. His paintings have won many awards and were exhibited in European countries. Many of his oil paintings were sold at top end art auctions abroad and in India.
